FAQ

What is your photography style?
Our style is photo journalistic. We like to photograph the day as it unfolds. We do not believe in being pushy, demanding or over the top. Most couples that we have photographed already have said it didn't even feel like we were there. We truly believe to get the best photographs for your most important day, you and your partner need to be as relaxed as possible.

What kind of Equipment do you use?
We use professional Nikon camera’s and lenses. We carry a backup of everything in case anything should go wrong. We like to know that we have every possible outcome covered. After all this is a hugely important day.

How many pictures will you take?
We will take as many or as few pictures as you want. However, we generally shoot about 500-1000 images and we edit 10% - 15% of the images before we pass them onto you. We will have you review the remaining photographs for special images you'd like edited for inclusion into your album photographs. You will get all images on DVD regardless if they're edited in post production or not.

How long before we see our proofs?
Normal viewing time is usually within 2 to 3 weeks, sometimes a bit earlier.

Do we get to choose which images are color or black and white?
We shoot everything in color.  While we are editing your photos we will see which ones we believe would benefit greatly from being turned into a black and white. When we do change an image we keep the original in color as well, so you will have 2 copies of that image, sometimes 3 if we also think it looks great in sepia.

What is required to book the date?
We require both a deposit of $500 which is non refundable as well as a signed contract. This guarantees your date. 50% of the remaining balance is due 4 weeks before the day of the event and the remaining 50% is due on the day of the event. You can pay Snap the Day Photography several ways. Either by bank deposit, check, PayPal or money order.  Since we book our dates on a first come first serve basis, we do not hold dates until we actually receive both a signed contract and deposit. However, if someone else asks about my services on your date, we will try our best to inform you beforehand.

What if you have an Emergency or unexpected event and can’t make it to our wedding?

In this rare case, Michael or I would find another assistant to work with to ensure you still have two photographers covering your wedding.

Do you have packages?
We do not have a strict package plan that you must fit your wedding into. We have a basic plan in place that you can build or shrink based upon your needs. We will work with you to include everything you want in your photography so that come the day of your wedding you are rest assured that everything is taken care of.

How about products?
We have a range of top quality albums that we custom design the layout based upon your wedding. These albums are printed on high quality paper and delivered directly to your door. We can also do DVD slide shows to showcase your wedding digitally.

Do you charge extra for travel?
We do not charge extra for travel other than the cost of transportation (mileage, airfare, etc.) plus lodging.

Do you mind if people other than you take photographs during the wedding?
No, we do not mind at all, your family and friends are excited you are getting married! We do however ask that when we am getting certain shots that other guests wait till we have taken the photos we need, then they can get the ones they want.

Do we get a disk of high resolution images?
Yes you do. We do suggest that when you are getting your prints done, that you chose a reputable printer. Please dont go to cheap places as the colors will not match, the paper they use is cheap and your prints will fade. You really do get what you pay for. We highly suggest http://www.mpix.com for all your printing needs.

Am I required to feed you at the reception?
Yes we do require a meal. Weddings are long and hard work and our bodies needs a chance to refuel. Most reception venues have meals allocated for photographers or DJ/band. Ask yours about this.
